Phase 1: Early Screening In phase 1, healthcare professionals come to the worksite and test employees for indicators of diabetes and heart disease risk.
Phase 2: Risk Reduction In phase 2, a representative meets with the workplace health and safety committee or human resources group to present grouped-anonymous results from the screening activity. The representative works with the committee to help implement programs in the workplace to address the wellness issues uncovered during screening. Phase 3: Follow-Up Monitoring In phase 3, repeat testing is conducted on an annual or semi-annual basis as decided by the committee. Objective - through on-going testing and one-on-one lifestyle counselling and group support programs, employees and employers can start to take action early to prevent health problems that could affect productivity and thus the bottom line.
